EXERCISE 2-8: Complete the following dialogues. Use the words in parentheses. Give short answers to question where necessary.

EXERCISE 2-9: Here is a newspaper article. Fill in the blanks with the simple present or simple past tense forms.
The theft of a valuable dog, a British racehound named Tom, worth US$250,000 (S$780,000), has triggered a massive police hunt in America.

MY FIRST MOVIE
Emma Seaton is a famous Hollywood legend. Now 75, she is one of the most popular actresses In movie history. TV reporter Polly Reeves is talking to her about her first movie. Read the Interview, and complete the dialog with Wh-questions.

Polly      : Why do you want to be an actress?
Emma   : Because, I thought it was a glamorous career.
Polly      : What did your first movie called?
Emma   : My first movie was called Love in a Dangerous Time.
Polly      : When did the first movie made?
Emma   : I made it in 1942. It was a long time ago!
Polly      : What was it about?
Emma   : It was about the Second World War.
Polly      : Where did the movie located
Emma   : We filmed it in Hollywood and San Francisco.
Polly      : Who were your co-stars?
Emma   : My co-stars were Howard Gold and Frank Archer.
Polly      : Which one did you like, between Howard and Frank?
Emma   : Oh, I didn’t have a favorite. They were both good actors.
Polly      : How did you meet him?
Emma   : I met him when I was making my next movie. Love at First Sight. It really was love at first sight! We’ve been married for fifty years.
